Salvador DALI & Pablo PICASSO
WHEN GENIUSES MEET.
SALVADOR DALI AND PABLO PICASSO AT LIBRA EXHIBITION HALL
Bienvenido a la fiesta!
Red and yellow on the Spanish flag reflect the hot summer sunshine of Costa Blanca, and the sunshine-filled hot Spanish blood of two outstanding artists, Pablo Picasso and Salvador Dali.
What was their relationship? Both artists spent a long while in France, and the sophisticated French poetry entwined with their own oeuvre. Apollinaire was Picasso’s best friend, while Dali created a series of graphic works based on Apollinaire’s and Ronsard’s poetry.
Picasso preferred rural lifestyle of French countryside. Its simple ways reflect in the flowers on the window sill and the melancholy of seaside scenes. Dali, on the other hand, was much into the energy of the Eternal City.
Their styles couldn’t be more different, yet both of them were rich with Spain’s lifeblood. Corrida and flamenco, the love for their homeland’s exquisite culture, they are seen clearly in Picasso’s and Dali’s innovative oeuvres.
From December 19, 2018 to February 24, 2019.
